Home fragrance is the latest lifestyle add-on to make the atmosphere at home relaxing, enchanting and stress free. You can use home fragrance products just before evening get-togethers or dinner parties, to enliven the environment and set the mood.
Home fragrance – Top Tips
There are many popular home fragrance products available today. Another plus point is that these products have a visual appeal. They add elegance and beauty to your home decor when placed appropriately at strategic places. They double up as aromatic accessories.

Aromatic Herbs
Flower petals, citrus peels, orange blossoms, perfumed silk flowers and aromatic herbs can be placed in a beautiful sculpted metal or glass bowl filled with water. This, if placed at the entrance of your home, looks festive and elegant, just right for any festive occasion. Luxury scented candles can be placed on attractive candle holders and glass jars.

Reed Diffusers
Scent vaporizers, designer reed diffusers and air freshener sprays that give off instant fragrances are available. Reed diffusers with rattan reeds are inserted into glass jars of scented oils. These reeds have tiny holes that suck the oils to the top. The oils permeate the air thru evaporation giving off fresh scents. These can be placed in bathrooms and dark passages where unpleasant smells tend to linger.

PotPourri
For the environment conscious kind who hate using chemical aerosol air fresheners and strong scented candles, products with natural ingredients like Potpourri and essential oils are a good option for home fragrance. Potpourri is an assortment of dried flower petals, fruit seeds, aromatic herbs and sometimes spices, that emanate a gentle, natural and healthy fragrance when left open in attractive bowls or colorful ceramic containers. This fragrance is relaxing and lingers for a long time. Attractive bowls containing Potpourri can be used as a display accessory when placed below a decorative light source like a hanging lamp. Aromatherapy – Essential Oils
Essence oils are made from pure natural ingredients and the fragrance is therapeutic in nature. You can add a few drops of essence oils to some water in a reed diffuser. The refreshing fragrance of essence oils will slowly permeate the air.
Perfumed sachets and scented drawer liners can be used in wardrobes. Your clothes will keep smelling fresh always.

How To Make Essential Oils For Home Fragrance
Or better still create your very own home fragrance. To make essence oils at home, take half a cup of strong scented flower petals like Jasmine, Lavender etc. Use mild scented oils like safflower oil. Warm this oil with the scented flower petals in a small saucepan. Remember to turn off the flame immediately – We are not cooking the flower petals and aromatic herbs! Allow the oil to cool before storing in air tight dark glass jars. Use reed diffusers to release the fresh scent of this oil into the air.
